Kindly Consider the following Statistics:
Search is the second most popular activity online only next to email
The #1 way people find new websites online is through Search Engines
That 4 out of every 5 Internet users say they use a Search Engine daily
80% of all search engine users stop looking for a site after 30 Results.
Up to 85% of all users discover web sites via search engine queries.
Up to 85% of all users discover web sites via search engine queries.
80-90% of Internet users rely on search engines to find websites.
There are more than 1 BILLION who use Internet and over 90% of them use Search engines to find the products/services/information they are seeking to purchase.
Now our concern is how to grab our maximum share of this enormous traffic sent by search engines
It is our duty to present you with both sides of the most commonly adopted methods of web site promotion viz: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC)
Advantages of Search Engine Optimization :

SEO in the long term is more cost effective- as time passes cost reduces. With PPC cost can only go up.
SEO provides incredible ROI. (PPC bids are expensive, but SEO in the long run brings a steady flow of traffic without too much cost)
SEO can lasts for years. Many sites do well several years after they’ve made the investment in the site with a good SEO. PPC on the other hand disappears the second you stop bidding on results.
SEO has a better chance of delivering return customers. SEO is more about what the customer is looking for. PPC is more about what the company thinks the market wants.
SEO puts the Web site owner in the drivers seat- PPC puts the search engine in the drivers seat.
Disadvantages of Search Engine Optimization:
SEO normally takes a relative long time to market. It can take a few weeks or months for a good optimization campaign to show results.
SEO depends on the optimization specialists ability and the competition that exists for that phrase.
Advantages of PPC :
PPC is easy. You do not need a lot of knowledge and skills for PPC.
PPC is direct market access- limited competition for eyeballs.
PPC results are immediate.
Disadvantages of PPC :

95% of the clicks are “free information seeking” only and never buy.
Quick loss of top Placement in favor of anyone who is willing to pay more.
PPC favors big businesses with large market budgets.
It requires a constant and ever increasing investment in order to maintain rank.
PPC when done by amateurs can lower the ROI.
SEO traffic will keep coming continuously even if you don’t continue optimizing and submitting your site.
The minute your PPC or banner advertising budget runs out, the traffic stops.
Just because something is difficult does not means you should not try it means you just try.
What is SEO?
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is simply a method to describe the process in which the traffic from a particular site is increased by optimizing your Web document content using keywords, or keyphrase, to make it appear on the top list of results by search engines.
In truth, SEO can be easily categorized as a marketing technique which promotes a certain site using these keywords in search engines. Simply put, the more keyword hits on your site, the more likely it will be placed on the top results of search engines - usually on the first page.
Since SEO focuses also on Internet Marketing, this method will also promote the idea of sales and brand awareness to different surfers of the World Wide Web.
SEO Methods
There are different methods a Webmaster can use to make sure that their sites will be on top of search engine results, such as:
1. By anticipating the possible combination of keywords or keyphrase a Web surfer will use on search engines, Webmaster can easily optimized their site by spreading keywords around all over their site. The more keyword is detected during the search process, the more likely it will be placed on top.
2. Another method for SEO is through link building. In order to increase site traffic, you can request other Webmasters to place a link of your site in theirs, and vice versa. The more links you have in different sites, the bigger the possibility of increased traffic for yours.
The concept of link building is now being used in many social networking and blog site, since these two are known to have large site traffic than any Internet service.
3. Writing articles and posting them as content in your site is one way to do SEO. The more articles you post under your domain name, the bigger the possibility that it will be placed among the top results of searches. Many companies are now taking advantage of hiring many writers to produce different varieties of Web content to promote SEO.
If you have enough financial resources at your disposal, it is a sound advice to hire an SEO professional to help you organize your site to conform to SEO methods and procedures.
This method might be quite expensive at first; but if successful, your site will generate more traffic to better promote your Internet business -- which will result in return of investment and higher profit.

Do your keyword research first
You need to know what people are looking for as it relates to your site, article or web page you are building. Knowing this first will keep you from having to rewrite anything.
You don’t have to be a search guru to get good traction, either. Use tools like Nichebot or SEOBook to get a bead on what people are looking for relating to your topic.
Write purposefully, but naturally
Many search engines (read Google) are incredibly adept at figuring out if something is written for the user or for search engine fodder. Don’t go there! Make everything you write be for your visitor.
Name it what it is
Use descriptive names for everything. “Long-blue-kitchen-curtains.htm” is better than “itemID3642.htm” any day. Your internal link should read, “insurance restoration claim work”, not “construction service” (and link to insurance-restoration-claim-work.htm”). ALT text for a photo should read, “chicago pub with green beer on St. Patty’s day”. For those using a blog or other CMS, use friendly URLs.
Use static links and/or menus
Search engines like static links. Your visitors like static links. Use them liberally. Implement ‘mini-menus’ of static links in your content to other pages on your site that are RELEVANT to the topic at hand. Put links in your text to other websites with supporting content (using the right keywords in the link, of course).
Use images liberally in your content
Search engines are including images in search results. Use images on important pages and in every blog post. Utilize the ‘title’ and ‘alt’ tags every time keywords. Make sure your images are relevant to the content they support.
Hit your target market
Use keywords in your content relevant to the market you are focused on. Demographic terms (city, state) and alternate terms (for your industry, profession, service, products or concepts) should occur naturally in your content.
Add more content regularly
Search engines like new content. Keep building your content up with relevant content to your site’s topic. Adding something new a couple of times a year doesn’t cut it if you want to appear like a viable resource for a particular topic to search engines.
Use tags and ‘related content’ links
Not only are both of these great for your user to find related content, but they also help the search engines correlate the content on your site easier.

The main and most important is Understand keywords
Correct SEO keywords to drive traffic to your websiteThe debate is constant because there's truth in both sides of the argument. Using targeted keywords in your domain name DOES help your ranking, but to a very small extent. Find out whether your site would be better geared with an URL with your keywords or with an URL reflecting your brand.
we have the seo professionals who analyse the website and find the proper keywords.
Take a shortcut to High-End SEO
You can pour over research till your face turns blue. But why not let someone else who's proven themself do the hard work for you? Put your energy into what you know best, and let us consult you towards having a top ranking website in Google.
My rankings have suddenly dropped! What do I need to change?

Don't Panic!! Take a deep breath and first consider these things:

• Is your website new? If it's been less than 6 months, or even a year, you're likely to see some random fluctuations.

• Is it a datacenter issue? Sometimes different datacenters show different results. Just because you see #11 on your computer doesn't mean the rest of your target geographic area isn't seeing #1.

• Are you logged into any of Google's products? If you're logged into Google (gmail, analytics, Adsense, Adwords, etc.), you're seeing different results than the rest of the organic world. Google personalizes results for those logged in. They watch the patterns of your searches (as well as other people that match your profile) and give you the results they think you'll find the most value in. Log out and check again.seo mumbai

The biggest mistake I see when people notice a big adjustment in their preferred rank is rash changes to their sites. People equate the drop to some coincidental change that was made recently. Even if the drop in rankings was merited, it most likely isn't from one single event. Remember that there are billions of factors in Google's Algorithm. You're not working with a controlled environment, so wait and see what happens. Most of your major changes won't be really noticeable for a couple weeks or months anyway.seo company mumbai

BUT if you 've been doing some questionable activities to artificially boost your rankings, it may be a result of Black Hat SEO। If you're working against Google's Search Engine Guidelines, you can be banned from Google। The process of resubmitting a site is not fun. Do it right the first time and you won't be stressing over little bumps in your rank.seo company in mumbai.
Why SEO is important for business
If you have online business.do you know there are alots of visitors come through Search engines.suppose one visitors wants to bye T-shirs.then he simply type on searchengine as quality T-shirts.then a number of results displed in thesearch engine results page.just you think if your site displayed in the searchengine first page then that visitor can visit your site.by this you can got a lots of traffic to your site.if your site is not displaying in the search engines results page then what is the value of your website.SEO work can increase your site in to the first page in the searchengines results page.                                      seo company mumbai

1. Commit yourself to the process. SEO isn’t a one-time event. Search engine algorithms change regularly, so the tactics that worked last year may not work this year. SEO requires a long-term outlook and commitment.

2. Be patient. SEO isn’t about instant gratification. Results often take months to see, and this is especially true the smaller you are, and the newer you are to doing business online.

3. Ask a lot of questions when hiring an SEO company. It’s your job to know what kind of tactics the company uses. Ask for specifics. Ask if there are any risks involved. Then get online yourself and do your own research—about the company, about the tactics they discussed, and so forth.

4. Become a student of SEO. If you’re taking the do-it-yourself route, you’ll have to become a student of SEO and learn as much as you can. Luckily for you, there are plenty of great Web resources (like Search Engine Land) and several terrific books you can read. Aaron Wall’s SEO Book, Jennifer Laycock’s Small Business Guide to Search Engine Marketing, and Search Engine Optimization: An Hour a Day by Jennifer Grappone and Gradiva Couzin are three I’ve read and recommend.

5. Have web analytics in place at the start. You should have clearly defined goals for your SEO efforts, and you’ll need web analytics software in place so you can track what’s working and what’s not.

6. Build a great web site. I’m sure you want to show up on the first page of results. Ask yourself, “Is my site really one of the 10 best sites in the world on this topic?” Be honest. If it’s not, make it better.

7. Include a site map page. Spiders can’t index pages that can’t be crawled. A site map will help spiders find all the important pages on your site, and help the spider understand your site’s hierarchy. This is especially helpful if your site has a hard-to-crawl navigation menu. If your site is large, make several site map pages. Keep each one to less than 100 links. I tell clients 75 is the max to be safe.

8. Make SEO-friendly URLs. Use keywords in your URLs and file names, such as yourdomain.com/red-widgets.html. Don’t overdo it, though. A file with 3+ hyphens tends to look spammy and users may be hesitant to click on it. Related bonus tip: Use hyphens in URLs and file names, not underscores. Hyphens are treated as a “space,” while underscores are not.

9. Do keyword research at the start of the project. If you’re on a tight budget, use the free versions of Keyword Discovery or WordTracker, both of which also have more powerful paid versions. Ignore the numbers these tools show; what’s important is the relative volume of one keyword to another. Another good free tool is Google’s AdWords Keyword Tool, which doesn’t show exact numbers.

10. Open up a PPC account. Whether it’s Google’s AdWords or Yahoo’s Search Marketing or something else, this is a great way to get actual search volume for your keywords. Yes, it costs money, but if you have the budget it’s worth the investment. It’s also the solution if you didn’t like the “Be patient” suggestion above and are looking for instant visibility.

11. Use a unique and relevant title and meta description on every page. The page title is the single most important on-page SEO factor. It’s rare to rank highly for a primary term (2-3 words) without that term being part of the page title. The meta description tag won’t help you rank, but it will often appear as the text snippet below your listing, so it should include the relevant keyword(s) and be written so as to encourage searchers to click on your listing. Related bonus tip: You can ignore the Keywords meta altogether if you’d like; it’s close to inconsequential. If you use it, put misspellings in there, and any related keywords that don’t appear on the page.

12. Write for users first. Google, Yahoo, etc., have pretty powerful bots crawling the web, but to my knowledge these bots have never bought anything online, signed up for a newsletter, or picked up the phone to call about your services. Humans do those things, so write your page copy with humans in mind. Yes, you need keywords in the text, but don’t stuff each page like a Thanksgiving turkey. Keep it readable.

13. Create great, unique content. This is important for everyone, but it’s a particular challenge for online retailers. If you’re selling the same widget that 50 other retailers are selling, and everyone is using the boilerplate descriptions from the manufacturer, this is a great opportunity. Write your own product descriptions, using the keyword research you did earlier (see #9 above) to target actual words searchers use, and make product pages that blow the competition away. Plus, retailer or not, great content is a great way to get inbound links.

14. Use your keywords as anchor text when linking internally. Anchor text helps tells spiders what the linked-to page is about. Links that say “click here” do nothing for your search engine visibility.

15. Build links intelligently. Submit your site to quality, trusted directories such as Yahoo, DMOZ, Business.com, Aviva, and Best of the web. Seek links from authority sites in your industry. If local search matters to you (more on that coming up), seek links from trusted sites in your geographic area—the Chamber of Commerce, etc. Analyze the inbound links to your competitors to find links you can acquire, too.

16. Use press releases wisely. Developing a relationship with media covering your industry or your local region can be a great source of exposure, including getting links from trusted media web sites. Distributing releases online can be an effective link building tactic, and opens the door for exposure in news search sites. Related bonus tip: Only issue a release when you have something newsworthy to report. Don’t waste journalists’ time.

17. Start a blog and participate with other related blogs. Search engines, Google especially, love blogs for the fresh content and highly-structured data. Beyond that, there’s no better way to join the conversations that are already taking place about your industry and/or company. Reading and commenting on other blogs can also increase your exposure and help you acquire new links. Related bonus tip: Put your blog at yourdomain.com/blog so your main domain gets the benefit of any links to your blog posts. If that’s not possible, use blog.yourdomain.com.

18. Use social media marketing wisely. If your small business has a visual element, join the appropriate communities on Flickr and post high-quality photos there. If you’re a service-oriented business, use Yahoo Answers to position yourself as an expert in your industry. With any social media site you use, the first rule is don’t spam! Be an active, contributing member of the site. The idea is to interact with potential customers, not annoy them.

19. Take advantage of local search opportunities. Online research for offline buying is a growing trend. Optimize your site to catch local traffic by showing your address and local phone number prominently. Write a detailed Directions/Location page using neighborhoods and landmarks in the page text. Submit your site to the free local listings services that the major search engines offer. Make sure your site is listed in local/social directories such as CitySearch, Yelp, Local.com, etc., and encourage customers to leave reviews of your business on these sites, too.

20. Take advantage of the tools the search engines give you. Sign up for Google’s webmaster Central and Yahoo’s Site Explorer to learn more about how the search engines see your site, including how many inbound links they’re aware of.

21. Diversify your traffic sources. Google may bring you 70% of your traffic today, but what if the next big algorithm update hits you hard? What if your Google visibility goes away tomorrow? Newsletters and other subscriber-based content can help you hold on to traffic/customers no matter what the search engines do. In fact, many of the DOs on this list—creating great content, starting a blog, using social media and local search, etc.—will help you grow an audience of loyal prospects and customers that may help you survive the whims of search engines.
